You have lots of options when you stay on site at WDW in one of the great resorts!
WDW divides their resorts into 3 main categories: value, moderate and deluxe. These categories have match price tags to the names. I have stayed in each level of resort and all of them have been great. You just have to figure out what is best for you and your family.
Our first trip we stayed at the Polynesian, one of the deluxe resorts, and were spoiled. It is really a great resort for families. Great pools and large room, our family loved it. But we also got a good deal on it and did not pay full price. If you are concerned about price I would suggest staying in a moderate or value.
For our next trip we are staying at Port Orleans: French Quarter, a beautiful moderate that feels more like a deluxe. Moderate resorts have great amenities and a great price tag. They are perfect for the family who wants to spend time in both the park and at the resort. You can really enjoy both when staying at a moderate.
The least expensive resorts are the value resorts. Value resorts are great for families who don’t spend much time at the resort and most of the time at the parks. This is where I stay most often. I love going to the parks all day and just need somewhere to rest my head at night.
There are 30 different resorts at WDW with over 28,000 rooms. With a few new resorts opening soon (Disney’s Riveria Resort and Reflections a Lakeside Lodge), there will be even more to chose from. But just like everything else about your vacation, you have to decide what is right for you and your family.
With so many options, it can get overwhelming. When deciding where to stay you will need to do your research. There are many websites you can check out, we recommend: www.dadsguidetowdw.com. We also recommend reading: “the easy guide guide to your Walt Disney World visit”. Both of these are full of useful information on all the WDW resorts.
